Environmental Education in the Community

At Veolia we believe in the value of environmental education, and offer a range of resources to teach individuals, schools, councils and businesses about their roles in waste management and environmental preservation.

Our role in educating the community

We recognise that the community has a key role to play in protecting the environment, but that equally, we have a responsibility to provide the wider community with the knowledge and tools it needs in our ongoing battle to preserve the environment.

Our role in urban planning

By helping local authorities improve their municipal strategy, and implement sustainable development plans, we can provide expert advice on how integrated water, waste and energy systems can shape the urban precincts of the future.

Whether modelling urban operations, monitoring KPIs or managing innovation on a local level, we offer an array of resources and services to help local authorities develop, manage and monitor their municipal development and improvement policy.

Our environmental education

School resources

Recycling is not only a great way to help our environment, but it can also be fun! We work closely with many schools, offering fact sheets and information on how to recycle and how to be wise with waste.

We also can arrange for schools to visit some of our waste transfer stations, our Woodlawn bioreactor facility in Tarago, NSW, and the Ti-Tree bioreactor in Willowbank, QLD.

Contact us if you are interested in arranging a school visit.

Businesses

Educated workers help spread the environmental message. We provide recycling tips, fact sheets and downloadable stickers that can help ensure the proper segregation of waste at the workplace.

Veolia is also involved in community activities and charities. We are a major sponsor of numerous clean up days throughout the year, which get employees working together and making a difference in the local community.

Councils
We work closely with councils throughout Australia to develop bespoke solutions for their communities’ waste management. We provide recycling and waste collection information on request, for distribution to residents.
